Puppetry in challenging times

Puppetry, as all performing arts, is an important cultural heritage. Theatre institutions, educations, workshops and archives are a treasury box for the arts. But the immaterial heritage is equally of great interest: the rich knowledge among the many professions within puppetry, and not the least the audiences, who should be served with access to high quality stage art even in difficult times.

About the seminar

The world of today has quickly changed in terms of war and peace, alliances, power balance and politics. The climate threats, often hardest to the poorest, must equally be adressed and met with action. For regions in war and regions close to war areas, a new readiness is already on the agenda.

UNIMA Sweden thanks Kulturhuset stadsteatern Marionetteatern and the Pop Up Puppets festival for hosting this conference, where we  invite renowned puppetry artists to talks about preparedness and adaptions to a changing situation for the arts and the artists.
