Dracula

The Norwegian Puppet maker Yngvild Aspeli rediscovers the myth of Dracula for her first collaboration with Puppentheater Halle. The use of life-sized puppets is at the center of her work, but the actor’s performance, the presence of music and the use of light and video are all equal elements in communicating the story.

Dracula is part of the Pop up Puppets international festival at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, August 18-21 2022.

Yngvild Aspelis digs deep into the immortal dark secret of human nature, passed on from one generation to the next; the mysterious creature that hides in the shadow of the human heart. This inner beast that sometimes takes control and transforms a person into a deadly force feeding on fear and fresh blood. Drawn by external and internal forces, the chorus of five actors-puppeteers blur the thin line between life and death, becoming un-dead when the puppets reveal themselves more alive than living beings.

Adults, from 15 years.
