Remind Me - English

Everything starts at a group-therapy session. Eleni attends to face the bitter truth of her mother’s situation and how to cope with it: Her mother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The film features and portrays the perspective of the child that chooses to stand by the diseased parent till the end.

Remind Me (original title: Gia thimise mou) was filmed with more than 80 volunteers and has won several awards at international online film festivals worldwide, often for Amalia Zargianaki’s lead role.

About the director:

Maria Svoliantopoulou (*1995) was born and raised in Heraklion, Crete. She studied Psychology at Staffordshire University and specialized in mental health, researching issues of mental illness and social exclusion.

Through the role of producer, screenwriter and director, Maria Svoliantopoulou makes an effort to inform the public and to encourage them to become familiar with the disease. Remind me is a film about Alzheimer's disease, but it is mainly based on the caregivers and Svoliantopoulou’s personal experience from the difficult and painful working process together with the patients themselves.
