Linnea Tengroth entertains, provokes and educates as she details her own experience of growing up across continents. Her unique experience of race and racism, and how those experiences were internalised, is interwoven with punchy stand up comedy and touching poetry, with stunning hand drawn animations by Brisbane Animator Brydee Lister.
A truly provoking and personal experience, Linnea masterfully holds the audience in a status of insecurity, flipping the normative pressures felt by women of colour onto the audience. Holding them in a space of not knowing wether to laugh, cringe or cry and exploiting this tension to great effect. With plenty of audience engagement and no white privilege to hide behind, if you don’t see this show yourself, you’ll de finitely hear about it.
