Traces

The Swedish company Marionetteatern let poetry meet puppetry in the Swedish show "Traces", a completely new theatre experience that challenges the established and that sets the mind free to associate and imagine. With newly written poetry by the acclaimed poet Adam Westman, new music by Mikael Svanevik, directed by Helena Nilsson.

The performance is part of the Pop Up Puppets International Festival hosted by Marionetteatern, at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm August 22-25 2024.

Traces

A remnant, an imprint, a sign.

Traces of a life; one that has been or that will begin.

Traces of who I was, or who I could become.

Clues – memories – a course – a consequence – a path – a habit – a remnant – a shadow.

A circle being closed, fragments that become entwined or fade away.

Adam Westman is one of Sweden's most exciting poets. In 2019, his debut poetry book Taberg was released, followed by the poetry collection Folkets Park the following year.

Mikael Svanevik has created music and soundscapes for theater and dance performances across Sweden. He has also worked on radio and TV productions, such as "Kobra" and "Babel."

Helena Nilsson is the artistic director of the Swedish company Marionetteatern. As a director and playwright, Helena has crafted critically acclaimed performances such as A Speck in Space, The Pet Performance and many more.

Adults from 15 years.
