About the festival

The Stockholm International Comics Festival once again invites guests from all over the world. This year will offer something of a German sub-theme with long-awaited guests such as Aisha Franz (Work-Life Balance) and Mikael Ross (The Thud). But we can also promise guests from the US, France, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Finland and Norway.

Of course, a huge part of the Swedish comics industry will be present – from the big publishers to the self-publishers, from established names to exciting newcomers! This year you get to meet debutants such as Matilda Josephson (Mjölk och människor) and Ditte Lindroth (Flickvänsprovet). Iris Hautaniemi's festival poster brilliantly represents the motley mix of guests and visitors at our festival. There is something for all tastes, all ages, the broad and the narrow. But with a little extra focus on the odd and unexpected.

The comics market

The heart of the festival is, as always, the comics market, where publishers, cartoonists, ’zine people, comic schools, associations and comic shops sell and display all the best that comic art is capable of. On three parallel stages, public talks and interviews will take place. We will also offer workshops, film screenings and stage performances.
