Origin Of A Tale

The first fable may have been modeled from clay. It is from this raw material that the Lebanese puppet show will build the genealogy of fables. The piece combines live sculpture and drawing, movement, object manipulation and sound creation.

The performance is part of the Pop Up Puppets International Festival hosted by Marionetteatern, at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern in Stockholm August 22-25, 2024. See full program here.

The central element will be clay in layered sheets, in piles, in blocks, in bas-relief, modeled live, and so on, giving life to figures and spaces. The puppet show is created and performed by Aurélien Zouki and Eric Deniaud from Collectif Kahraba, a Libanese performing arts company comprising artists and technicians from different walks of life who firmly believe that art is a pathway for dialogue and openness.

Origin of a tale has been presented in France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Danemark, Colombia, Abu Dhabi, Egypt more than 350 times.

For all audiences from 8 years.
